Asia Floor Wage Alliance (AFWA) is an Asian global labor and social alliance across garment-producing countries in Asia and consumer regions of USA and Europe. Founded in 2007, AFWA builds unity among Asian garment unions to hold global fashion brands accountable for labor rights.

Scope of work

The Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for overall smooth operational and administrative functioning of AFWA.  S/he will work with AFWA’s local, regional and global teams and report to the International Coordinator and Deputy International Coordinator.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate overall operational and administrative functions of AFWA.
  • Coordinate documentation, updating of internal policies (such as staff, partners) and their communication to staff and partners.
  • Support local, regional and global team members and International Secretariat in work plan development and reporting.
  • Conduct overall project administrative activities for ensuring overall smooth operation; coordinate project financial transfers and payments, maintain documentation.
  • Support preparation of partners contracts and liaising with partners on specific administrative requirements.
  • Lead the recruitment, on-boarding and off-boarding of staff.
  • Ensure observance of internal and external reporting deadlines
  • Assist in preparing high quality reports to funders, in tandem with team leaders in a timely manner.
  • Assist in developing concept notes for proposals, budget activities and targets; coordinate as needed with others.
  • Provide logistical support including procurement of goods and services; staff recruitment; arranging trainings, workshops, meetings and events; contracts development; management and maintenance of project inventory; travel management; etc.
  • Assist in other programmatic work as required from time to time.

Qualification and Experiences

  • Strong English language skills, both speaking and writing.
  • Graduate or post-graduate with minimum 3 years of experience in Finance/Accounting, Business Administration or Professional Accounting qualification from recognized institute; knowledge of labour and human rights a plus
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to building a collective spirit
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience in project administration in an international organization with various income sources and donors are a strong plus.
  • Experience in risk management and donor compliance
  • Strong, flexible, team player with the ability to manage challenging tasks independently, and able to cope with deadlines.
