Asia Floor Wage Alliance (AFWA) is an Asian global labor and social alliance across garment-producing countries in Asia and consumer regions of USA and Europe. Founded in 2007, AFWA builds unity among Asian garment unions to hold global fashion brands accountable for labor rights.

AFWA’s work involves engaging, responsive, fast-moving and creative campaigning to tackle poverty level wages and gender-based violence in the industry, and advocate for living wages and violence-free workplaces for garment workers, who are mostly women, in the global garment industry. It unites labor, social and human rights organisations nationally and regionally in Asia and builds strategic alliances globally. 

AFWA is looking for a dynamic campaigner to fill the position of Coordinator – Communications & Campaign. S/he will work with diverse network partners, alliances, and coalitions in Asia as well as USA and Europe, coordinate impactful campaigns, and collaborate with research and legal teams to gather evidence and information to support campaign demands and objectives. S/he will contribute to the development of compelling and effective communications and creatively engage diverse audiences. 


  • Develop AFWA’s campaign strategies with team members and partners 
  • Coordinate multi-country communications strategies through digital platforms 
  • Coordinate with broader team to sucessfully execute campaigns at national, regional or global levels 
  • Help build strategic relationships with broader networks and organisations 
  • Craft compelling content for digital platforms such as social media, press releases, op-eds, and blogs 
  • Coordinate engagement with journalists across countries and work to secure media coverage for campaigns 
  • Coordinate with AFWA’s regional and country-based teams to ensure consistency of messages 
  • Analyze campaign data and metrics to refine strategies and improve outcomes 


  • Master’s degree (development studies, media, public policy, labour studies, women’s studies, human rights) or equivalent 
  • Minimum 3 years experience in communications and/or campaigns 
  • Experience in managing social media channels for campaigning and inspiring audiences. 
  • Good understanding of labour rights and economic justice in a global context 
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently within agreed framework while maintaining communication with a global team in different time zones and geographies. 
  • Ability to be flexible and work proactively and reactively in a fast-paced environment.   
  • Excellent written and spoken English 
  • Commitment to continuously learning to embed a safe, gender sensitive, feminist and grassroots-led approach 
  • Experience in writing on labour rights and knowledge of garment industry, a plus 
  • Visual design, video editing skills, knowledge of website design, a plus
