The Global South Women’s Forum returns in its 7th edition in 2022 with the Global Tribunal of Women Workers! #GSWF2022

Refusing to be invisible, women workers from over five sectors, including the garment sector, are reclaiming their power and stories, addressing the perpetrators responsible for violations of the rights of women in work. On 24-28 September, unite with women workers as we host their lived experiences alongside artistic sessions and CSO-led reflections. Join us also on October 9 as the recommendations from the hearings are presented.

The Global Tribunal aims to make visible the broad spectrum of women’s work and the gross human rights violations and power imbalances experienced by women engaged in paid and unpaid work; affirm the human and labour rights of women workers in the formal and informal economies to assert their rights to decent and dignified work free from violence and discrimination; and hold duty bearers and perpetrators of violations accountable for non-compliance with international human rights and labour rights standards and commitments; and identify the gaps in national laws, policies and institutional structures.

The five days of the Tribunal are themed around:
1. Ending gender-based violence and harassment in the world of work
2. Care work, social protection, decent work & informalisation
3. Health rights including occupational health and safety, mental health, sexual and reproductive health and rights of the workers
4. Freedom of association, collective bargaining and the right to unionisation
5. Wage inequality, living wage, and equal pay for work of equal value
